קרן גרומברג נולדה ברומא, איטליה, בכ"ח בחשון תשל"ו, 2 בנובמבר 1975. בוגרת אוניברסיטת טקסס באוסטין (אנגלית והיסטוריה) ובעלת תואר שני ושלישי בספרות השוואתית מאוניברסית קליפורניה בלוס אנג'לס. מרצה באוניברסיטת טקסס באוסטין במחלקה ללימודי המזרח התיכון ובתכנית לספרות השוואתית.

Karen Grumberg was born in Rome, Italy. She earned her BA in History and English from the University of Texas at Austin and her MA and PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is Associate Professor of Hebrew Studies in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies and the Program in Comparative Literature at the University of Texas at Austin. She spent the Spring of 2012 teaching Hebrew literature as a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Oslo in Norway. Her first book, Place and Ideology in Contemporary Hebrew Literature, was published in 2011 by Syracuse University Press. Currently she is writing a book on Gothic elements of Hebrew literature from the early twentieth century to the present.
